Elisabeth Leonskaja

It is such a pleasure to welcome this legendary musician back to the festival. For decades now, Elisabeth has been among the most celebrated pianists of our time, following in the footsteps of the great Russian musicians of the Soviet era, such as David Oistrakh, Sviatoslav Richter and Emil Gilels. In her younger years she regularly played duets with her mentor and hero Sviatoslav Richter. Elisabeth plays for us two of Schubert’s finest works for the piano.
