In Search of Beethoven

Laura Tunbridge
Professor of Music; Henfrey Fellow and Tutor, St Catherine’s College, Oxford

(In conjunction with Chipping Campden Literature Festival)

We are delighted that our joint event with the Literature Festival will be a discussion with Professor Laura Tunbridge on her forthcoming book on Beethoven. Laura will be in conversation with Music Festival director Charlie Bennett and the evening will include recorded extracts of Beethoven’s music.

Laura Tunbridge joined the Oxford Faculty of Music in 2014, having previously been Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester (2004-2014). She has been a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York and was Editor of the Journal of the Royal Musical Association from 2013-2018.

“This tour de force, written by an expert new voice provides a peerless overview and a symphony of material that has never been revealed to the wider public before. It’s a fresh, human portrayal of Beethoven and a concise way into one of the world’s most amazing minds.” Daniel Crew, publisher; In Search of Beethoven will be published by Viking in Autumn 2020

Borzoi bookshop will be taking pre-orders of the book and will provide bookplates for Laura to sign.
