David Pollard

Vocal Masterclass
(working with 3 advanced singers)
pianist Jessica May
The master class this morning will be tutored by David Pollard, professor of singing at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama since 1982. David is widely acknowledged as one of finest and most sought after teachers in Europe, credited as the long-term teacher of many of the UK’s best-known and most successful singers, including acclaimed baritone Roderick Williams. His students, past & present, can be heard in major roles in all the world’s international opera houses. Competition successes amongst his students have included wins in all the major British competitions (The Kathleen Ferrier Competition, the Richard Tauber Prize, the Maggie Teyte, The Royal Overseas League, the International Mozart Competition, Cardiff Singer of the World and the Young Welsh Singer of the Year). As always this will be a fascinating morning for both voice and instrumental students alike, or in fact anyone who enjoys witnessing teaching at the very highest level.
