I have long wanted to get Stephen to the festival and, finally, an opportunity arose for 2018. As well as being one of the world’s finest pianists Stephen is also a superb composer and prolific writer, and was named by The Economist as one of Twenty Living Polymaths. He has put together the most marvellous programme. Alongside some of Debussy’s most beautiful and evocative writing we will hear what Stephen considers to be both Beethoven and Schumann’s greatest works for the piano. Book early for this concert.

“Stephen Hough is a worthy inheritor of the mantle of Sir Clifford Curzon, and of Solomon, two of the few British pianists who won world renown for their depth of musicianship as well as their technical prowess” The Mail on Sunday
