Freiburger Barockorchester & Vox Luminis
Vespro della Beata Vergine 1610
The Freiburger Barockorchester Orchestra has a twenty-five year history of acclaimed performances. Within a few years of its student beginnings, it became an internationally sought-after orchestra, performing in the most important concert halls and opera houses of the world.
The magnificent Belgian choir, Vox Luminus, join them for this performance of Monteverdi’s great masterpiece. I have long wanted to present the Vespers at the festival and the coming together of these two ensembles, combined with the 450 anniversary of Monteverdi’s birth provided an opportunity too tempting to ignore. We expect an enormous demand for tickets for this concert so please book early.
Freiburg Baroque now dazzle, soothe and delight the listener in this breathtakingly beautiful, self-directed recording of Haydn’s three “Tageszeiten” symphonies
