JS Bach

Mass in B minor BWV 232

Tonight the outstanding choir, Tenebrae and the incomparable Academy of Ancient Music join forces under the baton of Nigel Short to perform Bach’s monumental B minor mass, described by the 19th century editor Hans Georg Nayeli as the “Greatest Musical Work of All Times and All People.” I believe the power of this extraordinary work is further enhanced by it being performed as one continuous musical arc so there will be no interval but just a short 5 minute break between the Gloria & the Credo. We expect an enormous demand for tickets for this concert so please do send your booking forms in ASAP.

“For purity and precision of tone, and flawless intonation, Nigel Short’s chamber choir Tenebrae is pretty much unbeatable” The Times
